M7 proudly presents to you the M7 Rear Lower Diffuser Tunnels.
R53 owners rejoice! We know how bad you've wanted them and they're finally ready for you. The Rear Lower Diffuser Tunnels come in a gel-coated fiberglass (Ready for paint) or carbon fiber finish.
Our rear lower diffuser system not only looks aggressive, but it helps your performance jump up another level. The tunnels redirect the high speed air flow under the car to transition smoothly into the low pressure vacuum created at the rear of the car as it moves forward. Smoothening out the air flow under the car helps to reduce drag on the vehicle while also increasing downforce.
The diffuser tunnels attach to your vehicle using special brackets that utilize pre-existing mounting locations as well as the rear bumper. The rear bumper brackets attach by drilling and installing rivnuts into the aluminum bumper. The tunnels were designed around the R56's straight back exhaust system. For the R53, a custom straight-back exhaust will have to be fabricated to clear the tunnels. This means that the battery box will have to be removed and the battery relocated.
The M7 Diffuser Tunnels are available in two finishes: fiberglass and stunning Carbon Fiber. The small center wing between the two large tunnels comes in black anodized aluminum for both finish options.
Please note BEFORE placing order:
- The AirTab vortex generators seen in some images floating around the internet were part of a pre-production prototype and are NOT available on the final production version.
- The center wing under the exhaust tips features a black anodized aluminum finish.
- Shaping of the rear bumper is necessary.
- Drilling and installation of rivnuts into rear aluminum bumper is necessary (hardware is included but tools ARE NOT).
- Due to construction, installation on the R53 requires a custom straight-back exhaust, relocation of the battery, and removal of the battery box. Some of the rear heat shielding will also have to be cut. "
