Many of our roads are covered in pot holes and more often than not we come across bumps and pot holes that cause the car to thump and hit then extremely hard. If your running sports suspension set ups then these bumps can feel like gigantic holes shaking the whole chassis of the car.
The suspension at the front of your mini sits in a strut housing. Over time repeating bumps and pots holes can cause these struts to "mushroom". This is caused by your suspension suddenly exerting large forces to the top of the strut housing where your suspension is bolted to, causing then to deform slightly.
If your struts start to Mushroom then it can cause problems such as poor tracking, vibrations and poor suspension operation.
The KAV strut reinforcement plates (SRPs) "reinforce" the top of your strut towers preventing them from mushrooming. They are a must have item for any mini be it a normal mini or a highly tuned race , track car
