ADVANTAGES OF A TEFLON COATED INLET MANIFOLD
The ported Teflon coated intake manifold for the BMW mini Gen 1 R50, R53, R53 is an essential bolt of addition to help increase air flow into the engine to provide a much greater power increase.
Standard stock intake manifolds can be very restrictive and a bit of a bottle neck, preventing the additional air fuel mixture required when looking for more power and torque. If you have a ported head you wont ever be able to get the full benefit from it without porting the inlet manifold.
Teflon coating helps to keep intake air temperatures down through reducing coefficients of friction, wear and energy consumption, whilst helping improve the air flow into the head through the manifold.
If you have a mini one or cooper then the inlet manifold will fit straight to the head but you will need to fabricate a plate to allow the throttle body to bolt to the end of the inlet manifold as the cooper S inlet manifold has a three bolt fitment where as the one and cooper have a 4 bolt fitment.
